Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our wellness team at American House Senior Living Communities. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer medications to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Accurately document medication administration and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in medication cart counts and maintain the security of medication supplies.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the Wellness Director.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including ambulation, transferring, and personal hygiene.
  • Engage residents in activities and promote socialization and participation in planned events.
  • Communicate professionally with physicians, third-party specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved medication administration course.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Certified Med Aide or Medication Technician.
  • Experience working with older adults and in assisted living or memory care settings.
  • Knowledge of dementia and related diseases.
Working Conditions

This position requires interaction with co-workers, clients, and/or vendors. Occasional weekend, evening, or night work may be required to ensure shift coverage. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, and/or blood-borne pathogens may occur.
