Radiology Patient Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Radiology Patient Coordinator to join our team at RAYUS Radiology. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient experience from the moment they arrive at our facility.

The estimated salary for this position is $18-$21 per hour based on direct and relevant experience. As a Radiology Patient Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care while also meeting our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Registration (55%):
    • Greet and register patients scheduled for imaging services; verify demographic information and process payment plans and copays
    • Answer phones and handle calls efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of patient inquiries
    • Act as liaison between technologists and patients waiting for exams, providing updates on scanner status and clinic information
    • Maintain front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office cleaning
    • Order office supplies as needed, ensuring adequate inventory levels
    • Manage supply of patient information sheets and ensure accurate completion
    • Push imaging via electronic interfaces, streamlining patient workflow
    • Complete confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions to patients
    • Fax reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested
  • Insurance Verification (20%):
    • Verify patient insurance coverage, ensuring accuracy and completeness
    • Pre-certify all exams with the patient's insurance company, obtaining necessary authorization
    • Obtain insurance authorization, adhering to Company guidelines
    • Handle release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys, and insurance companies
  • Scheduling (20%):
    • Arrange transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when necessary
    • Enter and submit patient exam orders, verifying accuracy
    • Verify orders match exam schedules, ensuring smooth patient flow
    • Schedule referrals and ensure proper authorizations are obtained
    • Schedule walk-in patients, prioritizing efficient service delivery
    • Process requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
    • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
  • Other Duties (5%):
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management, supporting the overall success of RAYUS Radiology
