Role Overview: As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in our day center, providing essential support to our participants. You will collaborate closely with our Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure that each participant receives personalized care and attention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personal care and assistance with daily living activities (ADLs) such as escorting, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal assistance.
- Monitor and document participants' vital signs as per instructions.
- Assist participants with boarding and exiting transportation vehicles, serving as a medical escort when necessary.
- Observe activities within the day center to ensure participant safety and well-being.
- Support meal service, ensuring participants receive appropriate meals and assist with feeding when required.
- Facilitate safe transfers for participants in and out of their homes and accompany them to medical appointments as assigned.
- Maintain personal care supplies, including grooming items and incontinence products.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Preferred: Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in California.
- A minimum of one year of experience in providing personal care to seniors is required.
- Must obtain CA Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.
