Job Summary

The Senior Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. This individual will also mentor and oversee team members' technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers.
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
  • Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic. Certificate in Automotive Technology or related, State Mechanic Certification(s), and valid driver's license preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others.
  • Has own tools with rolling toolbox.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures.
