Facility Overview:
Kettering Health Huber
Conveniently located off major highways,
Kettering Health Huber has been a vital part of the Huber Heights community for 8 years.
This facility features 15 beds and is accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department.We offer a 24/7 full-service emergency center, ample parking, and short wait times.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Patient Registration Specialist include, but are not limited to:
1. Registering patients while showcasing excellent guest relations and outstanding customer service skills.
2. Reviewing all scheduled outpatient appointments prior to service to ensure that patients have been assessed for potential discounts.
3. Discussing payer sources and payment options with patients.
4. Assisting patients in completing Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Applications, and Medicaid Applications (if applicable).
5. Conducting quality reviews of accounts and demonstrating the ability to update all facets of a patient account.
6. Exhibiting knowledge of all compliance or legally mandated registration forms, consents, literature, and documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in registration or scheduling is highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must meet pre-screening protocols and demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, phone etiquette, and customer service knowledge.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in teams and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Capacity to learn site-specific patient processing software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer literate.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, often stressful environment while maintaining a respectful, caring, and professional demeanor.
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate staffing needs.
Education:
- High school diploma is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or customer service setting is required.
