Job Title: Materials Supervisor

At Adient, we are seeking a highly skilled Materials Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of a team of workers to ensure that goods are moved, handled, and stored safely, correctly, and in accordance with established schedules and inventory lists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate material control systems, inbound/outbound shipments, and materials handling activities and inventory control primarily from the shop floor.
  • Coordinate all material handler activities, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
  • Train, coach, and develop the material handling team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Implement and assist in the development of cycle counting and pull systems for each commodity.
  • Manage and coordinate the receiving and DMR processes, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of goods.
  • Manage the input of incoming receipts on a regular and timely basis, ensuring accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Coordinate all customs compliance requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in maintaining and revising visual inventory benchmarks and standards.
  • Coordinate daily production build schedules, ensuring timely and efficient production.
  • Liaise between Materials and Production teams to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
  • Coordinate outside warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Run RPS history reports and cumulative reports, verifying receipts have been collected in RPS files.
  • Manage the process of supplier cum reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of supplier invoices.
  • Monitor system for accurately tracking Truckload Utilization (TUMS).
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
  • Manage and maintain onsite replenishment of Trailers (Shelve).
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Actively participate in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.
  • Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets, or the public.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years inside manufacturing with at least 2 years in supervisory role.
  • Experience with Automotive JIT is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications.
  • Formal Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Detailed Oriented, Pro-Active.
