Job Summary

The Auburn University 4-H Center is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the grounds staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of the campus grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the grounds using a variety of tools and equipment, including shovels, rakes, power tools, and lawn mowers.
  • Perform basic landscape-related duties, such as weed pulling, plant watering, and pine straw/mulch installation.
  • Remove debris and maintain cleanliness of grounds, parking lots, and outdoor areas.
  • Operate a pressure washer to keep sidewalks, bridges, and outdoor areas clean.
  • Set up tables and chairs for meeting and event venues and assist with maintenance projects around campus.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to safely utilize and operate landscape tools and equipment.
Working Conditions
  • This job regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertion.
  • Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
  • Frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
