As a Weatherization Specialist with the Stanislaus County Department of Workforce Development, you will play a critical role in helping homeowners and residents in the area to reduce their energy consumption and costs. You will travel with your crew to residential homes, evaluating and installing energy-efficient measures to improve the comfort and efficiency of homes. Your work will involve performing a range of tasks, including installing energy-efficient lighting, replacing doors and windows, and sealing air leaks.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Install energy-efficient measures, such as LED lighting and smart thermostats, to reduce energy consumption.
- Conduct home energy audits to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to address them.
- Work with homeowners to identify and prioritize energy-saving opportunities.
- Install and maintain energy-efficient appliances and equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all energy-efficient measures are installed correctly and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service to homeowners and residents, ensuring that they are satisfied with the work performed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest energy-efficient technologies and best practices.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in building industry carpentry, maintenance, mechanical, or a related field.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
The physical demands of this job include frequent driving, walking, climbing, crawling, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, and standing. The employee must be able to operate a pallet jack and lift objects up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to listen, understand, and communicate in writing and verbally.
Compensation:The starting salary for this position is $20 per hour, with increments after each certification, up to a maximum of $23 per hour.
