Estimated Salary RangeWe offer a competitive salary of $48,000 - $58,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This comprehensive compensation package includes benefits such as paid training, retirement plan, and free YMCA membership.

Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Teacher at the Kettle Moraine YMCA, you will be responsible for creating engaging learning experiences, fostering positive relationships with children and families, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
  1. Developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with our curriculum framework;
  2. Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork;
  3. Maintaining a safe, healthy, and organized environment that promotes learning and exploration;
  4. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless program operations and achieve shared goals;
  5. Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge;
  6. Upholding the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions.

Requirements and QualificationsTo excel in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • A minimum age of 18 years or completion of approved course;
  • CPR/AED certification (we can certify);
  • Completion of one DCF-approved course in the Child Care field within six months of hire;
  • 10 hours of DCF-approved Infant/Toddler training (if applicable) within six months of hire;
  • Possession of a valid Child Care Background Check before hire;
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds, interact with children at their cognitive level, and participate in physical activities;
