About This Role

The Children's Center in Harwich is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Preschool Teacher to support our education department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children.

This is a full-time position that requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as a passion for working with young children. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a preschool or daycare setting and hold an Early Education and Care Lead Teacher certificate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the director in supervising daily tasks, observing classroom management, and overseeing curriculum implementation.
  • Develop and lead staff training and supervision, and participate in staff meetings.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is obtained and organized in a timely manner according to state licensing regulations.
  • Create and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for children.
  • Supervise and manage classroom assistants and aides.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress.
  • Assess and evaluate children's academic, social, and emotional development.
Requirements:
  • Early Education and Care Director 1 or 2 license and Lead Teacher certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education preferred, or related field. Associate's degree (CDA accepted).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a preschool classroom setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of child development and appropriate teaching methods.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
