Prime Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Lower Bucks Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, while providing exceptional patient care and service.
Responsibilities- Supervise the daily operation of the laboratory section(s) and provide consultative services to the medical staff.
- Oversee the laboratory's performance improvement program and participate in hospital-wide initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Assess staff competency and complete performance evaluations.
- Develop, maintain, and update laboratory policies and procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient results prior to release or reporting.
- Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures using manual and automated methods.
- Ensure the performance and documentation of equipment maintenance.
- Recognize age-specific differences in expected results.
- Ensure the testing of proficiency testing samples is conducted in the same manner as patient samples.
- ASCP certification or equivalent required.
- Minimum five years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid state license if required.
