Job Summary:
Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Computed Tomography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine to complex diagnostic CT procedures, including common and special CT exams of high difficulty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including common and special CT exams, to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Assess, identify, and respond to patient needs for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
- Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or special CT procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers to provide accurate explanations and instructions.
- Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly, using ALARA principles to protect patients, staff, and the general public.
- Maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practice aseptic techniques, and ensure compliance with infection control procedures.
- Identify opportunities for corrective action and process improvement, providing recommendations to meet department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
- Assist with implementation and education of department-based safety initiatives and standards of practice.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below.
- Three years of experience as a CT Technologist.
- ARRT-R, ARRT-THR, CNMT, ARRT-CT, CMRT, or CMRT-Temp certification.
- BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software.
- Strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently and handle challenging/difficult diagnostic procedures and patient care situations.
