Fermentation Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Fermentation Instructor to join our team at San Diego City College. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching fermentation-related courses and contributing to the development of our curriculum.

• Teach fermentation-related courses, including lecture and lab classes, in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic success.
• Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to promote student growth and development.
• Stay current with industry developments and best practices in fermentation education.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum changes and improvements.
• Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote student success and retention.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as food science, microbiology, or a related field, and two years of professional experience in fermentation-related industries.
• Associate degree in a relevant field and six years of professional experience in fermentation-related industries.
• The equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.

This is a part-time, temporary faculty position. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus classes. The selected candidate is required to complete a background check and provide official transcripts prior to employment.
