Job Title: Fermentation Instructor

San Diego City College is seeking a qualified Fermentation Instructor to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced instructor to teach fermentation-related courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fermentation and be able to effectively communicate complex concepts to students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality fermentation-related courses to students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
• Provide individualized support to students to ensure their success in the course.
• Stay current with developments in the field of fermentation and incorporate new knowledge into the curriculum.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum changes.
• Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to improve student learning outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. food science, microbiology, biochemistry) and two years of professional experience in fermentation-related industries.
• Or, Associate degree in a relevant field and six years of professional experience in fermentation-related industries.
• The equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience teaching fermentation-related courses.
• Knowledge of fermentation-related technologies and equipment.

Working Conditions:

The Fermentation Instructor will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with variable working conditions depending on the assignment.

Conditions of Employment:

• Submit official college transcripts as stated on application.
• Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment.
• Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the district's expense.
• Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
