Job Description:

This is a 245-day position, providing secretarial and administrative support to the Administration at Powhatan County Public School.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative assistance, answer phones, direct calls, and greet visitors in a professional manner.
  • Respond to internal and external parties for information and facilitate communication among departments as required.
  • Serve as registrar for new and transferring students, maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Manage office operations, ensuring an efficient and safe working environment.
  • Screen visitors entering the school according to proper sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Maintain various computerized and manual records, files, and department databases.
  • Distribute mail to staff mailboxes and ensure compliance with postage regulations.
  • Monitor and update daily parent pick-up changes.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written, with fluency in English and good grammar skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Evaluation:

Performance on this job will be evaluated based on school board policy and administrative regulations regarding the evaluation of classified personnel.
