About the Role

We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at New Story School. As a leader in special and alternative education, we foster a supportive and friendly environment where your passion and reliability can shine.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting your approach as needed to ensure student success.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including paraprofessionals and parents, to build a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
  • Advocate for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with all necessary laws and regulations.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment where every student feels engaged and can succeed.
  • Participate in opportunities for continuous professional development and career advancement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in special education or education.
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about working with students with special needs.
