Job Title: Quality Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager will be responsible for monitoring core processes of the repair and remanufacture of heat exchangers, suggesting improvements, solutions, and implementing changes. This role will involve using basic measuring tools and methods to accomplish tasks, including providing root cause analysis of issues and maintaining the Quality System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue, evaluate, and process customer returns, providing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Supervise the plant in the absence of the Plant Manager.
  • Provide leadership in determining the root cause of customer and site problems.
  • Coordinate all calibration efforts for internal measuring devices, when needed.
  • Summarize quality data and issues with Supplier Correct Action Requests (SCARs) to suppliers and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) internally.
  • Provide timely responses to customer CARs.
  • Assist the Plant Manager with supplier issues and resolutions.
  • Prepare and present the Quality Management Review presentations with the Plant Manager.
  • Provide oversight for incoming inspection of machined and fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Train work associates on Quality Management System (QMS), including Process Control Plans, Quality Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Control all document controls for the Paducah QMS system.
  • Initiate, control, and track Quality Alerts at the process.
  • Create work instructions and perform document control for all work instructions.
  • Oversee audits for M1003 and customer audits.
  • Oversee Quality Tech responsibilities.
  • Responsible for producing the monthly Quality Metrics Dashboard report and communicating data.

Requirements:

  • Exhibit good computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as excellent math skills and the ability to process numbers quickly to produce charts.
  • Must be able to key and maintain control documents and Work Instructions.
  • Must possess the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Must exhibit good interpersonal skills, team building, and leadership characteristics.
  • Internal Auditing experience is preferred.
  • Be able to deal with change and respond quickly to a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform duties in an assertive, hands-on manner, with good attention to detail.
  • Good project/time management skills.
  • Knowledge of pre-launch inspection/control plans.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of statistical concepts.
  • Possess good oral and written skills.
  • On occasion, in his/her absence, be able to back up the Plant Manager.
  • Prior exposure to Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is a fast-learner with the ability to work with minimal supervision and cooperate in a team environment.
  • Previous work experience as a factory supervisor in a manufacturing factory operation is desirable.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Exhibit good computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point, as well as, have excellent math skills and ability to process numbers quickly to produce charts, control documents and work instructions.
