Job Summary:

The Team Leader of the Cardiovascular Testing department at WakeMed Health & Hospitals plays a crucial role in the coordination of education and daily operations of the lab. This position assists the department Manager and Supervisor in ensuring consistent standards of practice and competencies in the performance of procedure-related services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support staff to maintain high standards of practice and competencies in the performance of procedure-related services.
  • Act as a department resource in understanding normal and abnormal Cardiovascular anatomy/physiology and pathophysiology.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the use of Ultrasound equipment to visualize and record quality images of the Cardiovascular system.
  • Understand the needs of the organization and support the mission, values, and management of the division of Cardiovascular Services.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of clinical experience in a related area.
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Graduate degree in Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound, Cardiac Ultrasound, or Cardiovascular Sonography.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Peripheral Vascular Technologist certification.
  • Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification preferred.

Work Schedule:

Days, with weekend requirements as needed.
