Research and Extension Program Support Coordinator Health Equity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research and Extension Program Support Coordinator to join our team. This role will provide critical support to our research and extension activities, with a focus on health equity.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in research activities, including finding funding opportunities, conducting literature reviews, and engaging in proposal development.
- Interact with the public, make travel arrangements, and assist with travel documents.
- Keep a calendar for events, create purchase orders, and conduct research for pricing for supplies and equipment.
- Process forms, perform data entry, and establish and maintain records.
- Enter data, draft, edit, revise, and print letters, tables, reports, and other materials for the unit.
- Support the Senior Research Associate & State Health Equity Specialist with research and extension activities.
- Provide research support, including proposal editing, researching funding opportunities, and conducting literature reviews.
- Keep a calendar for related events and make travel arrangements.
- Research pricing for supplies and equipment and create and process requisitions.
- Work with high schools in the area and assist in some student outreach events.
- Perform a wide variety of typing assignments, including confidential documents.
- Daily interactions with the public, KSU students, staff, and faculty.
- Create and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Proof and edit letters, success stories, and enter program contacts into the Kentucky Reporting System (KERS).
- Assist with creating and maintaining frequent publications for community and partners.
- Perform data entry and maintain files, database, and record retention.
- Maintain budgets and accounts.
- Create and process requisitions, travel arrangements, budget transfers, and check requests for staff, faculty, guests, and students.
- Travel for meetings and trainings, including in-state and out-state travel for professional development assigned by the Senior Research Associate & State Health Equity Specialist.
- Instruct and supervise student employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience with and knowledge of health equity disparities.
- Experience and knowledge of submitting research proposals for federal, state, and related agencies.
- Ability to travel in-state and out-state, with some overnight travel required.
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Knowledge of ordering supplies, equipment, and/or services and inventory control.
- Word processing and/or data entry skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
- Records maintenance skills.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Ability to perform simple accounting procedures.
- Skill in the use of operating basic office equipment.
- Receptionist skills.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
