Registered Nurse II - (Part-Time)

The Registered Nurse II engages in advanced bedside nursing duties within a healthcare facility. Operating under general oversight, this role allows for a significant degree of initiative and independent decision-making. The nurse plays a pivotal role in leading the coordination and provision of high-quality, empathetic patient care.

Employing the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—the Registered Nurse II is responsible for delivering, delegating, supervising, and documenting patient care and education for both patients and their families.

This position involves the preparation, administration, and documentation of prescribed medications, alongside the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care strategies in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Experience in analyzing medical data and delivering personalized bedside nursing care to both pre- and post-operative patients, as well as those with infectious diseases, is essential. The nurse demonstrates clinical proficiency in caring for the designated patient population and contributes to the development of performance improvement initiatives while participating in competency evaluations. The role includes involvement in emergency preparedness, safety protocols, and infection control measures within the unit. The nurse may also assist with patient rehabilitation and transportation needs as required. In the absence of the Patient Care Coordinator, this role may entail performing their duties and may also include responsibilities as a Nurse Supervisor.

Compliance with the policies and procedures of relevant health departments and nursing standards is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient-Centered Care:
Foster a supportive environment by offering emotional, psychological, and spiritual assistance to patients and their families. Maintain respectful communication with patients and caregivers, tailoring care to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Medication Management:
Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patients for any unusual symptoms or reactions. Adhere to medication administration protocols and regulations.

Documentation and Assessment:
Accurately document patient care activities in medical records. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, developmental, and psychosocial needs, ensuring thorough documentation of nursing history.

Discharge Coordination:
Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate effective discharge planning.

Patient and Family Education:
Provide instruction and support to patients in managing their healthcare needs. Maintain and review patient records and assessments, addressing any issues through a multidisciplinary approach.
