Role Overview: The Optometry Assistant Manager serves as a key leader in the absence of the Store Manager, embodying the role of a business owner within the LensCrafters organization. This position is crucial in establishing LensCrafters as the foremost destination for vision care in the community while achieving key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and surpass key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Comp Sales, Customer Count, and Store Profitability.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of retail operations and effectively transfer knowledge to drive superior sales outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to analyze business performance and leverage resources to enhance results.
  • Assist in the development of business strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Lead and mentor team members, providing training and constructive feedback.
  • Support recruitment efforts to build a high-caliber team and maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and customers.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state Opticianry license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and drive sales.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior leadership experience in retail or customer service.
  • Knowledge of optics and current merchandise.

Compensation: Employee compensation is determined by various factors, including experience and qualifications. A competitive bonus and/or commission plan may also be offered, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
