Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sargent & Lundy as a Substation Electrical Engineer. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for the detailed electrical design and project management of high voltage substation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues
  • Prepare reports that present technical and project information in a clear and concise manner
  • Develop your career through peer-learning and knowledge sharing
  • Travel to client sites as needed
Requirements
  • BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 5 or more years experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints
  • Experience tracking project information and preparing status reports
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 or more years experience in the design of substations 138kV and above
  • Ability to prepare substation grounding calculations and direct stroke shielding calculations
  • Physical layout and protection & controls experience
  • Ability to work with Designer to develop substation single line diagrams and relaying & metering diagrams
