The Role
The Expanded Learning Program Manager is tasked with developing, executing, and overseeing the expanded learning initiatives for interested students at 1-2 KIPP SoCal campuses. This role includes managing team members involved in these programs and reporting directly to school administration, with ongoing support from the Expanded Learning Team at our regional office.

- Establish a vision, mission, and goals for the expanded learning program that align with KIPP SoCal's broader objectives.
- Design enrichment activities that cater to students' interests and can be facilitated by your part-time team.
- Develop and manage a schedule of academic, recreational, and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with administration to implement the program plan effectively.
- Provide leadership, training, and supervision to part-time staff to ensure quality programming that meets established standards.
- Ensure student safety at all times.
- Organize and facilitate events and field trips for the after-school program.
- Oversee daily operations of the enrichment program.
- Align academic, homework, and enrichment components with the needs and interests of participants.
- Manage meal processes at the school site.
- Ensure safe and consistent dismissal procedures in accordance with grant requirements.
- Handle budget management, supply ordering, scheduling, and necessary documentation and reports.
- Communicate effectively with school administration, educators, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee Full-Time Expanded Learning Program Assistants, including recruitment, selection, and ongoing training.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and staff performance.
- Continuously observe and support team members in the Expanded Learning Program.
- Recruit and enroll students to meet daily attendance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, including registration forms, attendance sheets, and operational schedules.
- Document staff performance issues and provide necessary guidance.
- Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and recommend improvements.
- Follow KIPP SoCal policies for the safe operation of the Expanded Learning Program.
- Conduct annual program evaluations, including surveys of students, team members, and parents.
- Submit all required documentation promptly.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience managing expanded learning programs is required.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential.
- 3 or more years of experience working with school-aged youth.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Capability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience engaging with diverse populations, including administrators, educators, parents, and students.
- Proficient computer skills; familiarity with Google platforms is a plus.
