Procurement Assistant Manager

In the role of Procurement Assistant Manager at J.D. Irving, you will be instrumental in facilitating the effective sourcing and delivery of essential raw materials. Your primary objective will be to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality raw materials that fulfill customer requirements while adhering to sustainable practices.

  • Manage contracts with growers and conduct site visits to evaluate the quality and quantity of raw materials.
  • Ensure that raw materials conform to the company’s standards and specifications. Monitor the grower database to confirm contract terms, pricing, and any applicable deductions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Production team to coordinate and schedule monthly deliveries of raw materials in alignment with production demands.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for more cost-effective raw materials. Aim to minimize delivery times to improve productivity for both growers and the facility.
  • Participate in negotiations related to processing contracts.
  • Provide constructive feedback to growers regarding quality enhancements.
  • Support strategic initiatives by collaborating with plant leadership to formulate short- and mid-term strategies and action plans to meet market demand.
