Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of resident units and common areas, including carpentry, painting, and other general repairs.
  • Prepare vacant units for move-in, including painting, cleaning, and carpet cleaning.
  • Perform and arrange scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning, including inspections and tests, and maintain logs and records reflecting results.
  • Perform maintenance on all security systems, fire alarms, and door locks.
  • Assist outside service personnel and vendors as needed, and report major repair and maintenance needs to supervisor.
  • Clean common areas, including emptying trash, dusting and vacuuming, polishing/cleaning furniture, cleaning fixtures, window ledges, and mopping floor areas.
  • Remove trash from common areas and maintain dumpster area.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining related maintenance records, including tracking and recording preventative maintenance procedures, completing work orders and inspections appropriately, and reviewing Material Data Safety Sheets.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in maintenance and repair, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
