Job Title: Mechanical Field Service Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Field Service Technician to join our team at Electric Motor & Contracting Company, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers, ensuring the smooth operation of their electrical rotating machinery, pumps, and switchgear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to perform maintenance and repairs on electrical rotating machinery, pumps, and switchgear
  • Removal and reinstallation of equipment serviced in our shop
  • Utilize basic rigging skills to safely move equipment on and off foundations and transportation means
  • Perform precision alignment of rotating equipment using dial indicators and laser alignment equipment
  • Conduct mechanical diagnostics on operational equipment utilizing vibration analysis, physical inspection, and visual examination
  • Work on existing equipment in customer facilities, performing in-place repairs and field maintenance
  • Interface with end users/customers to assist in determining the cause of mechanical failures and to help produce proactive solutions to mechanical failures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in mechanical environments
  • Familiarity with industrial safety environments
  • Knowledge of rigging practices
  • Positive team player attitude and overall motivation to succeed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements for position, including but not limited to ability to be on feet for an extended period, bend/stoop/kneel as needed, use of both hands, and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up and down multiple levels of industrial environments
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including extending normal shift hours and/or days and emergent call-in work outside of assigned shift
  • Good communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete written reports for work done on customer sites
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High mechanical aptitude
