Job Summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Relief Pharmacist to provide coverage in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for filling and approving prescriptions, as well as providing guidance to clinical and technical staff regarding the effects of medications.

Responsibilities

- Filling prescriptions for patients
- Sign off on prescription formulations
- Supervise pharmacy tech on duty

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree or PharmD in Pharmacy
- Current State of GA license
- Exposure to veterinary prescriptions for both large and small animals preferred

Working Conditions

- Ability to work on Monday and/or Friday and on call hours during weekends or holidays
- Ability to work well as a team and as an individual

Physical Demands

- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Sit, stand, stoop bend and walk intermittently during the day on hard floor surfaces
- Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately work with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects/containers/machinery

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background investigation, including a criminal background check, as a condition of employment.
