Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial patient histories and perform physical examinations to identify potential health issues.
- Initiate, document, and communicate treatment plans to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Perform daily patient rounds to monitor progress and address any concerns.
- Write orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests as needed.
- Interpret laboratory and test results to inform treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Document discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts.
- Provide patients with post-discharge care instructions to ensure a smooth transition.
- Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area required.
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State and current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
- Collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education or collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015.
- Current BLS certification required.
