Job Summary:

As a critical care specialist, you will provide exceptional patient care and coordination to critically ill patients and their families. Your expertise will be invaluable in assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex medical conditions, as well as collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, medical histories, and physical exams to diagnose health and developmental problems
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
• Collaborate with acute care providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care
• Manage therapeutic regimens for patients with acute and chronic diseases, adhering to approved guidelines
• Perform clinical procedures, including invasive procedures, and demonstrate expertise in clinical skills
• Make independent clinical decisions, ensuring the highest level of patient care
• Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with medical and surgical colleagues, staff, and trainees
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
• Teach medical students and resident physicians, promoting knowledge and skill transfer

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
• Minimum one-year critical care experience in medical/surgical nursing, with pediatric experience preferred
• Valid state license and current certification from a national certifying body (ANCC, AANP, etc.)
• Maintain PALS and ACLS certification

Work Environment:

• Hospital setting, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
• Full-time position, 12-24 hours rotating shifts
