Position Overview
As an Intermediate Systems Support Specialist, you will engage in foundational systems administration tasks. Your role will involve assisting in the maintenance, configuration, and dependable operation of various systems. You will be responsible for installing and upgrading both hardware components and system software, all while working under close supervision with limited independence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Client Assistance (65%)
    Provide support to agency personnel within a designated area, addressing hardware, software, network, and mobile device issues. Deliver Tier 1 customer support for your assigned region and meticulously document all activities and resolutions.
  • Asset Oversight (15%)
    Ensure accurate tracking of agency technology assets and complete all necessary inventory documentation.
  • Project Coordination and Assistance (10%)
    Support the planning and execution of IT initiatives related to equipment, devices, networks, and relocations.
  • Additional Duties (10%)
    Handle service requests, troubleshoot technical problems, test new hardware and software, and update inventory spreadsheets using Excel, along with other assigned tasks.

Essential Qualifications

CompTIA A+ certification


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of systems administration, including hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in operating systems and applications, as well as basic internet security management.
  • Ability to apply logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches to technical challenges.
  • Capacity to identify, analyze, and resolve intricate technical issues, and to learn and utilize network management and system administration tools.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
