Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

WestCare Foundation is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Counselor and assist with the delivery of individual, group, and family counseling services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and daily notes
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation of situations to ensure safety to all
  • Attend interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and provide treatment throughout the clients care
  • Implement approved curricula for group and individual counseling
  • Monitor and assess client behavior and report problems/observations to immediate supervisor
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for WestCare Vehicle Insurance
  • Ability to pass first-level and NABS background clearance
  • As mandated by Presidential Order, all employees of WestCare Foundation, Inc. and all affiliates of WestCare Foundation, Inc. will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 effective 11/1/2021
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED with strong preference for Associate or Bachelor Degree in social or behavioral services field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, to encompass all Microsoft Office applications
Working Conditions:

The Behavioral Health Technician will work in an indoor and outdoor setting, with direct contact with clients of all ages and levels of functioning. The position requires regular and consistent attendance to ensure continuity of counseling services to clients.

The employee must be able to perform the following essential duties and activities with or without accommodation:

  • Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment
  • Requires talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication
  • Requires seeing: Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance

The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids, or tissues. However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment.

Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee.
