Job Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist coordinates work with other Maintenance staff, Lead Electrician, and Contractors to ensure the proper functionality of all electrical equipment in the assigned facility. This role requires a strong understanding of PLC systems, electrical testing and repair equipment, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of Lead Electrician and Maintenance Manager to ensure the upkeep and proper functionality of all electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure the proper functionality of all electrical equipment in the facility, including electrical testing and repair equipment.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain electrical parts inventories, records, and place orders for spare parts and equipment.
  • Retain and update electrical repair and maintenance log, including reading electrical prints and scheduling routine checks for spotting any malfunctions.
  • Attend job training activities and coordinate work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments.
  • Experience in reading, understanding, and troubleshooting complex PLC programs.
  • Complete all tasks and general duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Good computer skills, PLC software, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical units and PLC's.
  • Must have good understanding of PLC systems as well as the ability to make alterations to the PLC program.
  • Sound understanding of handling and using electrical repair tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and coordinate work functions with co-workers.
Education and Qualifications
  • High School degree, diploma, or GED equivalent.
  • Current and valid OR General or Manufacturing Plant Electrician license and 2-3 years of PLC troubleshooting and repair as an electrician in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • 2-3 years' proficient experience at troubleshooting all types of electrical equipment.
  • Passed physical exam after job offer. Passed pre-employment criminal background and drug screening.
  • Completed certified apprenticeship program as Electrician. (Journey Level) Pass basic competency exam as administered by employer.
