Job Summary:

The Electrical Systems Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the proper functionality of all electrical equipment in the assigned facility. This includes working under the supervision of the Lead Electrician and Maintenance Manager to maintain electrical parts inventories, records, and ordering spare parts and equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for retaining and updating electrical repair and maintenance logs, reading electrical prints, and scheduling routine checks for spotting any malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of the Lead Electrician and Maintenance Manager to ensure the proper functionality of all electrical equipment in the assigned facility.
  • Maintain electrical parts inventories, records, and order spare parts and equipment as needed.
  • Retain and update electrical repair and maintenance logs to ensure accurate tracking of equipment maintenance.
  • Read electrical prints to understand electrical system designs and layouts.
  • Schedule routine checks to identify and address any malfunctions or issues with electrical equipment.
  • Attend job training activities to stay up-to-date on the latest electrical systems and technologies.
  • Coordinate work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Experience in reading, understanding, and troubleshooting complex PLC programs is highly desirable.

Requirements:

  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in PLC software, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical units and PLCs.
  • Strong understanding of PLC systems and the ability to make alterations to the PLC program.
  • Sound understanding of handling and using electrical repair tools and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and coordinate work functions with co-workers.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School degree, diploma, or GED equivalent.
  • Current and valid OR General or Manufacturing Plant Electrician license.
  • 3 years of PLC troubleshooting and repair experience as an electrician in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • 2-3 years' proficient experience in troubleshooting all types of electrical equipment.
  • Passed physical exam after job offer.
  • Passed pre-employment criminal background and drug screening.
  • Completed certified apprenticeship program as Electrician (Journey Level).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a wood products or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong commitment to safety excellence.
  • Ability to work shift work and weekends.
