About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Physician - Ophthalmologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration in Richmond, Virginia. As an ophthalmic care specialist, you will provide comprehensive eye care services to our patients, including diagnosis and treatment of various eye conditions.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmology, with expertise in glaucoma, retina, and corneal transplant. Board certification is preferred, but not required. We offer a competitive salary range of $300,000 - $400,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition to a generous salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, retirement plans, and malpractice insurance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive eye care services to patients, including examination, diagnosis, and treatment of various eye conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex eye disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in ophthalmology through ongoing education and training.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a residency program in ophthalmology or a related field.
  • Licensure to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Board certification in ophthalmology is preferred but not required.
