Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Implement operating procedures and ensure standards are met, while monitoring budget and operating metrics to diagnose and improve processes, procedures, and performance.
  • Leadership and Management: Manage staff by hiring, training, performance management, counseling, and safety, including maintaining proper records and files.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Interact with local, city, municipal, and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew contracts, negotiate new contracts, and ensure regulatory compliance standards.
  • Investigations and Reporting: Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and property damage claims, completing accurate and detailed reports, and necessary follow-up, to ensure all compliance goals are at or exceeded expectations.
  • Equipment Utilization: Develop and implement programs for optimal equipment utilization by working with the maintenance department to monitor and improve fleet utilization, repair, and maintenance costs.
  • Financial Management: Approve expenses and manage budget for the operations department, and formulate short- and long-term goals and action plans with the Regional Vice President.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with employees, co-workers, and management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field, and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, thorough understanding of routing and contract requirements, demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, and proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to frequently lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 20lbs, occasionally lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50lbs, and rarely lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 75lbs.
  • Additional Requirements: Must be at least 19 years of age, no more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years, and must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
