The Accounting Supervisor/Manager plays a crucial role in the division's leadership team, functioning similarly to a traditional controller. This position is expected to guide the finance team towards excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee, mentor, and lead the accounting department in the analysis and delivery of precise and timely financial data.
  • Direct the accounting team in establishing and monitoring internal controls and facilitating external audits.
  • Collaborate closely with management to analyze financial, operational, and key performance indicators to support business decision-making.
  • Engage with leaders from other departments to promote strong collaboration, transparency, and teamwork within the division.
  • Work with the accounting team to develop effective, efficient, and repeatable processes that yield performance results.
  • Utilize emotional intelligence to foster strong communication, trust, and a productive work environment within the department.
  • Exhibit expertise in financial reporting, accounting practices, and business analysis.
  • Encourage an environment that embodies Nucor's culture and promotes continuous improvement.
Safety is paramount in all roles at Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards consistently.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience
  • Leadership/Supervisory Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities
