The Accounting Supervisor/Manager plays a crucial role in the division's leadership team, functioning similarly to a traditional controller. This position is expected to guide the finance team towards excellence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee, mentor, and lead the accounting department in the analysis and delivery of precise and timely financial data.
- Direct the accounting team in establishing and monitoring internal controls and facilitating external audits.
- Collaborate closely with management to analyze financial, operational, and key performance indicators to support business decision-making.
- Engage with leaders from other departments to promote strong collaboration, transparency, and teamwork within the division.
- Work with the accounting team to develop effective, efficient, and repeatable processes that yield performance results.
- Utilize emotional intelligence to foster strong communication, trust, and a productive work environment within the department.
- Exhibit expertise in financial reporting, accounting practices, and business analysis.
- Encourage an environment that embodies Nucor's culture and promotes continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- At least 3 years of accounting experience
- Leadership/Supervisory Experience
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Experience in manufacturing
- Willingness to relocate for future advancement opportunities
