Located in the vibrant Twin Cities area, Allina Health is a not-for-profit organization committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services across numerous clinics and hospitals. As a member of our outpatient geriatric mental health team, you will play a crucial role in delivering specialized care. Initially, you will be stationed at the United campus, where you will benefit from extensive mentorship and training from experienced geriatric psychiatry professionals. This foundational year will prepare you for your transition to the Unity Hospital Based Clinic, where you will continue to develop your outpatient practice.
The geriatric mental health team comprises a diverse group of specialists, including nurses, social workers, neuropsychologists, and psychiatric providers. Our program offers a wide range of services, including eConsults, educational initiatives, outpatient therapeutic interventions, and inpatient therapy, with opportunities for expanding our reach and enhancing the levels of care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage the behavioral health needs of patients effectively.
- Engage with patients and their families to create tailored treatment plans addressing specific goals.
- Lead educational sessions for staff on psychiatric topics.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health and addiction or family practice with a focus on mental health patients; 2+ years preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) in the relevant specialty required upon hire
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 certification required within 180 days
- Drug Enforcement Administration registration required upon hire
Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work: Ability to lift up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently, in accordance with safe patient handling policies.
