Cruise is looking for an expert Cloud Data Platform Specialist to join our data engineering team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data management systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business results.

As a Cloud Data Platform Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include architecting and automating end-to-end data processing and management lifecycle on GCP. You will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to capture requirements and build a robust data platform. Your expertise will be essential in designing data pipelines, building canonical datasets, and domain data models to empower users to make data-driven business decisions.

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 4 years of experience in data engineering, preferably on big data systems. You should be proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C, and have experience with data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, and relational databases. Additionally, you should be familiar with ETL/ELT data pipelines, data modeling, and SQL programming.

The estimated salary range for this position is $142,800 - $210,000, depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays. Bonus points if you have experience with multi-hop medallion architecture, domain-driven data models, open-source applications, DBT, Hex, and GCP tools like Big Query and Looker. Familiarity with Agile Scrum principles, ceremonies, and SDLC practices is also a plus.
