About the role Production Team Lead - Metal Stamping Operations at SerenitySolution

Job Overview:

As a key member of our metal stamping department, you will oversee day-to-day activities to ensure seamless production operations. You will be responsible for coordinating tasks and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team's success.

***This position requires a 2nd Shift schedule, Monday through Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:00am, with occasional overtime on Fridays from 1:00pm to 9:00pm***

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, policies, and company standards.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Embed a culture of respectful treatment and open communication among team members.
  • Achieve operational excellence by eliminating waste and developing team members' skills to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure employees receive comprehensive training in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S within the press department.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to provide support.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives that align with operating metrics.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce inventories and work in progress.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
  • Partner with Union Stewards on contract and disciplinary issues.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet daily production targets.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations is preferred.
  • Previous professional, internship, or co-op experience will be considered as relevant experience.
  • Background in high-speed metal stamping operations, including progressive dies, transfer presses, and manual press operations, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-motivated and ambitious individual with proven leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and supervision within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, encouraging proactive thinking and solution creation among team members.
  • Familiarity with process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing, bending, and manual dexterity, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.

Compensation and Benefits:

Estimated salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
