Job Responsibilities

The Custodial Associate is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of airport facilities, which includes terminals, restrooms, and communal areas. This position encompasses various cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste management, all aimed at creating a welcoming environment for travelers and staff. Adherence to health and safety protocols is essential, as is the effective use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Additionally, you will be responsible for reporting maintenance concerns and ensuring that cleaning materials are adequately stocked and maintained.

WORKING AS A CUSTODIAL ASSOCIATE

· You enjoy collaborating with a team towards shared objectives

· Conduct general cleaning tasks throughout different airport zones, including terminals, restrooms, and offices

· Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors

· Dispose of waste and empty trash receptacles in designated areas

· Sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are equipped with necessary supplies

· Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and windows

· Sweep, mop, and maintain floors, walkways, and staircases

· Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies or spills

· Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies in restrooms and other facilities

· Comply with all safety and health regulations regarding cleaning and chemical usage

· Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed

· You possess a keen attention to detail

· You take pleasure in working collaboratively or independently to complete your tasks

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

· Capability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Ability to hear and respond to spoken communication and audible alarms in the terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years

· Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language, including documentation

· Basic ability to follow safety protocols and cleaning instructions

· Previous experience in custodial or cleaning services is preferred

· Familiarity with cleaning methods and the operation of cleaning equipment

· Physical capability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended durations

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively

· Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

· Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Ability to pass a drug screening

· Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal- as applicable)

Compensation:

The listed pay rate of $18.29/hr is what the company reasonably anticipates to offer for this position. However, individual compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, education, and experience.
