Job Summary

Gives a high level of customer service by performing various duties, including taking customer orders, handling payments, and serving food and beverages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Takes customer orders and uses a point-of-sale system to record orders and compute bills.
  • Selects and assembles food items on serving trays or in takeout bags.
  • Notifies kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders.
  • Serves hot and cold food, beverages, and desserts.
  • Receives payment and handles customer transactions.
  • Cooks and prepares food as needed to maintain a clean and organized eating area.

Requirements

  • Less than high school education or up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of order processing systems.
