POSITION SUMMARY

As a Culinary Team Member, you will be responsible for preparing meals in accordance with established sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards while adhering to specific food production recipes and procedures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective use of kitchen supplies and equipment to minimize waste and enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Collaborating effectively within a team environment to achieve common goals Preparing food items to order, following standard recipes and procedures within designated timeframes Prepping assigned ingredients, ensuring their freshness, and labeling them appropriately with the item name, date, time, and preparer's initials Cooking various food items using techniques such as grilling, sautéing, deep-frying, baking, and broiling Adhering to established sanitation and health standards, while practicing proper food handling techniques Measuring and assembling ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications Maintaining a clean and safe cooking area, returning ingredients to storage after use to ensure quality Following safety data sheets for proper handling of chemicals and sanitation products Stocking and restocking items on the cooking line as per specifications Washing and cleaning raw food products to ensure safety Preparing food items through peeling, dicing, shredding, and slicing using both manual and automatic equipment Upholding a professional appearance by adhering to company grooming standards Demonstrating integrity and honesty in all aspects of your role Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Moderate verbal and written communication abilities. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to maintain composure while working in a fast-paced environment. Acting with integrity and professionalism at all times Proficient in English communication, both oral and written. Quick to absorb and retain information; capable of passing menu-related assessments California food handler's card is required Basic mathematical, reading, and writing skills Basic computer proficiency Ability to multitask effectively

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application One or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant setting Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed Knowledge of workplace safety procedures Ability to suggestively sell food and beverage items

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is required to stand for the entire shift. Frequent activities include reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, shaking, stirring, pouring, carrying, and pushing. The team member will often use hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls in repetitive motions. Walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms are also required. Occasionally, the team member may lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Regular exposure to kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and knives is expected. Communication with coworkers is frequent. Occasional exposure to hazards such as cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns may occur; as well as frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold. Frequent hand contact with water, sanitation solutions, and various food products is required, along with regular hand washing. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
