Position Summary:

The Parts Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the parts inventory, ensuring that all components and supplies are received, organized, and allocated efficiently to support operational activities. This position requires a commitment to maintaining precise inventory levels, organizing the parts storage area, assisting with procurement processes, and delivering exceptional service to both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, assess, and confirm the accuracy of incoming shipments of parts and supplies.
  • Properly label and store parts in their designated areas.
  • Maintain comprehensive inventory documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure precision.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders to prevent shortages.
  • Distribute parts to technicians and other personnel based on requests and work orders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to address any discrepancies or issues related to orders.
  • Ensure the parts storage area is clean, organized, and safe.
  • Establish and uphold an effective parts storage system to maximize space and accessibility.
  • Store all parts in a manner that protects them from damage and deterioration.
  • Keep accurate and current records of all parts transactions.
  • Assist in preparing purchase orders and requisitions for parts.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies regarding parts management and storage.
  • Participate in safety training and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Track battery cores to ensure timely returns to the dealer and receipt of credits.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a parts inventory environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory control, parts management, or a similar capacity.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with automotive and heavy equipment parts is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Good physical stamina and dexterity.
