About the Role:

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This includes managing project schedules, submitting requests for information to clients, and coordinating meetings and updates. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in project management and estimating in the electrical industry, with a strong understanding of specifications, proposals, and other documentation. Proficiency in estimating software and construction scheduling tools is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare project construction schedules and submit requests for information to clients
  • Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects and act as the main point-of-contact for project personnel
  • Coordinate meetings, schedule updates, and submit deliverables as requested by clients
  • Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly, monthly progress reports and billing information
  • Review and monitor job costs versus budgets and report regularly to management
  • Prepare complete cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects within set deadlines
  • Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation and participate in the estimate review process
  • Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing and schedule and attend field walk-downs with customers and subcontractors
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency and assist in the preparation and submission of change orders
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Knowledgeable with specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services
  • Knowledgeable of the N.E.C. and all relevant local codes
  • Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office applications and estimating software
  • Ability to prepare construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
