Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable Part-Time Pharmacy Associate who will assist patients and customers by processing merchandise, managing transactions, accepting payments, and providing change. This role involves placing and executing orders and returns, maintaining inventory on shelves, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and professionalism of the product displays and store environment.

While prior pharmacy experience is preferred, we are committed to providing training for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates customer service by operating the cash register for over-the-counter sales, welcoming customers, providing assistance, processing payments, and fulfilling additional requests from customers. Assists patients through a drive-up window to enhance convenience.
  • Manages over-the-counter medication stock by checking shipments for accuracy, labeling products, and organizing items on shelves.
  • Handles mail order and delivery prescriptions by communicating with patients, calculating costs, packaging prescriptions, and delivering them to the post office for mailing.
  • Orders supplies, processes drug returns, and submits necessary data, ensuring supplier approval for returns.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of product shelves and counters, ensuring items are neatly arranged and checking expiration dates to remove outdated products. Keeps the storefront and waiting area tidy through regular cleaning activities.
  • Exhibits regular and punctual attendance, fostering courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and colleagues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Strong Attention to Detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others to ensure patient satisfaction and maintain a pleasant, professional work environment.
  • Proficient in multitasking.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in customer service.

Pharmacy associates are required to register with the state Board of Pharmacy for identification and compliance purposes. Individuals not currently registered must obtain registration prior to starting employment in the pharmacy. Registrations expire on the last day of the birth month of the registrant every two years, with no continuing education required for renewal.
