Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Princeton Community Hospital Association, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced non-invasive imaging procedures for Cardiac Laboratories, including echocardiograms and stress tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced non-invasive imaging procedures for Cardiac Laboratories, including echocardiograms and stress tests.
  • Obtain information for specific procedures to be performed, answer pertinent questions to patients concerning procedures, and provide courteous service to patients and their families.
  • Notify appropriate medical staff if there are significant abnormal findings.
  • Document procedure performed within patient chart to inform the physician that the test has been completed.
  • Calculate and measure cardiovascular structures from procedure data in order to aid the physician in interpreting results and achieving a diagnosis.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the equipment, procedure rooms, and work areas of the Cardiac Laboratories.
  • Complete accurate documentation through EPIC to ensure proper billing.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient and unit information, without infraction, as monitored by supervision.
  • Support the development of the Cardiac Sonographer I by providing ongoing feedback regarding their performance.
  • Participate in education and in-service opportunities in order to maintain and enhance knowledge.
  • Act as a preceptor by on-boarding new sonographers with department orientation, in-service, and education.
  • Provide preliminary report on study performed in a timely manner. Review preliminary report with physician.
  • Follow and implement Cardiac protocols and policies.
  • Participate in the training of Cardiac ultrasound techniques and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Echocardiography or Ultrasound Program and certification in Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Certification must be obtained within one year or hire.
  • High school graduate or equivalent and Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Certification in the following: Registered Cardiac Sonographer RCS or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer RDCS preferred OR within one year of hire.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
