Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Spencer Britt. As an Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing direct patient services, including diagnostic admission evaluations, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy. You will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Patient Services: Conduct diagnostic admission evaluations, provide psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy as needed, and develop treatment plans that address the complex needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with Treatment Team: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, provide guidance and leadership to other clinicians, and champion quality improvement projects.
  • Minimize Restraint and Seclusion: Develop and implement strategies to minimize the use of restraint and seclusion, and promote a safe and supportive environment for patients.
  • Timely Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, clinical interventions, and discharge summaries, and update records as specified in medical staff regulations and per regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Monitor risk indicators and take prompt action to address risk management issues, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors, and protecting the hospital from adverse events.
  • Prescribing Practices: Adhere to safe and evidence-based prescribing practices, obtain informed consent for medication trials, and ensure that prescribing practices are aligned with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison with outside providers, primary care physicians, schools, and family members, and communicate effectively to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Rotational Coverage: Provide rotational coverage to ensure continuity of psychiatric coverage and consultation services during daytime hours, nights, weekends, vacations, and holidays.
  • Supervision and Education: Provide supervision to selected medical students, residents, and non-physician health professionals, and participate in medical staff committees and meetings as specified in medical staff regulations.
