Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Aide to join our team at Global Force. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a key role in providing recreational activities and programs for students, promoting a safe and healthy environment, and ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise recreational activities and programs for students, including sports, games, and other leisure activities.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for students participating in recreational activities, including setting up facilities, providing necessary equipment and supplies, and enforcing safety rules and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to students, promoting positive social skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
  • Develop and implement recreation and physical fitness programs that meet the needs and interests of students.
  • Collaborate with other Center employees to ensure effective communication and coordination of student recreation efforts.
  • Perform special assignments and tasks as needed, including facility maintenance and event planning.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation, physical education, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with youth in a recreational setting, preferably in a residential or camp setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, peers, and supervisors.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Current state-issued driver's license and insurability required.
Working Conditions

The work environment consists of inside and outdoor activities, with moderate risks or discomforts occasionally encountered in activities such as hiking, running, team sports, and general physical fitness practices.

The position requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, and running, with extreme physical exertion occasionally required when participating in group sports or instructing students.

The work schedule may include swing shift and night shift, with occasional assignments to work other departments as needed for adequate coverage of student population for safety and security needs.
