Job Summary

The Department of Food & Agriculture is seeking a highly skilled Special Investigator to join our team. As a Special Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting investigations and enforcing laws related to weights and measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations into alleged violations of weights and measures laws and regulations.
  • Collect and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare investigation reports.
  • Provide training and guidance to local weights and measures officials on enforcement of weights and measures laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement program policies, guidelines, and regulations related to weights and measures.
  • Collaborate with other investigators and agencies to document widespread violations and develop effective enforcement strategies.

Requirements

  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in weights and measures enforcement or a related field.
  • Knowledge of weights and measures laws and regulations.
  • Experience with investigation and enforcement techniques.
