About the Role

This is a dynamic position that requires a strong understanding of health in all policies (HiAP) principles and racial and health equity approaches.

Job Summary

The Health Program Specialist I serves as a technical consultant and subject matter expert for the California HiAP Task Force and Capitol Collaborative on Race and Equity (CCORE). The Specialist works on sensitive and complex projects to support the Department of Public Health in integrating Health in All Policies and racial and health equity approaches across program areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the general direction of the Health Program Manager II to provide technical assistance and support to the California HiAP Task Force and CCORE.
  • Develop and implement strategies to advance Health in All Policies and racial and health equity approaches across program areas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address health disparities and promote health equity.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must pass the Health Program Specialist I exam. This position is eligible for telework, but candidates who reside outside of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state prior to appointment.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $63,800 - $83,989 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
